‘He’s not hurting the people he needs to be hurting.’

Trump’s brutality wasn’t something they politely ignored, it was his whole appeal.

I would be all “but I never thought leopards would eat MY face!” about this, but even that’s too kind here. It’s not that Trump voters didn’t care whether other people got hurt as long as they were exempted, or that they were too ignorant to understand the consequences, people voted for Trump explicitly for spite, because they wanted to hurt other people - immigrants, gays, black people. And now he’s not hurting them enough. If he was persecuting minorities more this lady would be willing to put up with the hardship, because that’s how much she hates her fellow Americans.

The cruelty is not a bug, it’s a feature.

#MakeAssholesGreatAgain - this is what #MAGA stands for. It’s about giving a voice to all the shitty people out there the rest of us passed by. The uncle who’s a racist. The nosy neigh or who can’t stop gossiping about you gay son. The fake Christian from the hair salon who complains that you don’t believe in Jesus while she’s cheating on her husband with her hairdresser l. Assholes who have a leader now and think they have a voice. Fuck them.

During World War II, 600,000 African-American women entered the wartime workforce. Previously, black women’s work in the United States was largely limited to domestic service and agricultural work, and wartime industries meant new and better-paying opportunities – if they made it through the hiring process, that is. White women were the targets of the U.S. government’s propaganda efforts, as embodied in the lasting and lauded image of Rosie the Riveter.Though largely ignored in America’s popular history of World War II, black women’s important contributions in World War II factories, which weren’t always so welcoming, are stunningly captured in these comparably rare snapshots of black Rosie the Riveters.

Reblogging because I’ve never seen these before, and I bet a lot of people haven’t.

The Biosphere 2 project was created as a research tool for scientists to study Earth’s living systems, and it allowed scientists to play with farming and innovation in a way that didn’t harm the planet. One of the most profound discoveries made by the scientists had nothing to do with a cure for some new disease or a new way of farming land. Rather, the discovery had to do with the wind’s role in a tree’s life. The trees inside Biosphere 2 grew rapidly, more rapidly than they did outside of the dome, but they also fell over before reaching maturation.

After looking at the root systems and outer layers of bark, the scientists came to realize that a lack of wind in Biosphere 2 caused a deficiency of stress wood. Stress wood helps a tree position itself for optimal sun absorption and it also helps trees grow more solidly. Without stress wood, a tree can grow quickly, but it cannot support itself fully. It cannot withstand normal wear and tear, and survive. In other words, the trees needed some stress in order to thrive in the long run.

Donald Trump IS a racist. Full stop. End of story.

Anyone who says otherwise is either lying, being willfully obtuse, or both. Trump’s bigotry is a fact that is not up for debate.

If you disagree, don’t @ me, don’t reply with an argument. You. are. wrong.
